I am a retired biochemist who has taken up painting. I have always been reasonably good at drawing, so on retirement the opportunity and the time arose to start taking it reasonably seriously. I spent eight years in Maleny, Queensland, a hot-spot of artists, and took part in several groups doing drawing and painting under the tutelage of professional well-known artists. After moving to the Western district of Victoria , I exhibited at various venues around Warrnamabool, and was an active member of the Warrnambool and District Art Society. Now I am living in Hurstbridge, Victoria, where I formerly lived for 23 years beofre retiring.
